Worship Tech Support

The Worship Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for operating all in-room audio and video equipment during meeting for worship and other Sunday morning activities at West Richmond Friends Meeting. This job is approximate 10 hours a month. At minimum, this involves:

  • Running sound for the public address system, including initial sound checks
  • Operating the camera systems to capture those who speak and other action in various parts of the worship space 
  • Maintaining full integration of audio & video between in-room systems and Zoom 
  • Coordinating with remote Zoom hosts, worship leadership, musicians, and others as needed 
  • Troubleshooting as circumstances require

Essential skills and qualities:

  •  Ability to learn new technological systems, including audiovisual equipment    
  • Creative problem-solving and the ability to respond quickly without overreacting
  • Good oral & written communication skills

Additional skills possessed by an ideal candidate:

  • Experience with live audio systems (especially Behringer mixing equipment)
  • Experience with video & audio software (e.g., Open Broadcast System, Zoom, Pulseaudio, V4L2)
  • Familiarity with video production, recording, and streaming
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu Linux and the MATE desktop environment
  • Facility with shell scripting and desktop automation
