Position summary

Ahadu Christian Academy seeks a committed, Christ-centered educator to serve as Lead Teacher / Deputy School Supervisor. This position combines direct classroom instruction with school-based instructional leadership. The successful candidate will teach students while supporting the Head of School in supervising daily academic operations, strengthening instructional quality, reinforcing school culture, and helping coordinate teachers and programs.

Key responsibilities

Teaching and learning

  • Teach assigned grade level(s) and subject areas using engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.
  • Prepare lesson plans, assessments, classroom activities, and learning materials aligned with school goals.
  • Differentiate instruction to support varied learning needs and learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain records, and communicate student growth and needs.

Instructional leadership

  • Support the Head of School with day-to-day academic supervision and coordination.
  • Model strong instructional practice, classroom management, and professional conduct.
  • Help maintain consistency in lesson planning, student expectations, routines, and academic quality.
  • Assist with curriculum implementation, review of instructional materials, and continuous improvement efforts.

Teacher support and operations

  • Provide peer support and practical guidance to teachers in planning and classroom management.
  • Participate in teacher meetings, school planning, student support, and launch preparation activities.
  • Assist with schedules, classroom coverage, discipline processes, and school routines as assigned.
  • Help ensure that school policies and Christ-centered values are reflected in daily operations.

Family and community engagement

  • Build positive relationships with parents and guardians.
  • Communicate professionally regarding student progress, school expectations, and concerns.
  • Represent the mission and vision of the school to families and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Prior classroom teaching experience, preferably in elementary grades
  • Demonstrated leadership ability or experience mentoring staff
  • Strong classroom management, planning, and communication skills
  • Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Ahadu Christian Academy
  • State teaching certification
  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Experience in school start-up, curriculum coordination, or instructional coaching
  • Familiarity with play-based, student-centered, and academically rigorous learning approaches
