Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Overview: 

Zimmermann Law Offices S.C. is a family and bankruptcy law firm seeking a driven and professional Legal Assistant/Paralegal to engage with clients, manage ongoing cases, and maintain office organization. This position is open to candidates within the greater Milwaukee area. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitating communication with clients and attorneys through phone calls and emails. 
  • Communicate with the court to ensure cases/filings are adhered to the court standards. 
  • Assist in drafting Motions, Pleadings, Proposed Orders, and other legal documents to be filed with the court. 
  • Prepare and organize exhibits for hearings and depositions. 
  • File documents though the courts online eFile system. 
  • Drive to pick up documents from the court and to pick up lunch for the office. 
  • Coordinate scheduling of meetings and hearings. 
  • Ordering lunch for the office daily.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • Prior work experiences in client-facing roles preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to drive to pick up documents from the court and/or to get lunch. 

Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word primarily).
  • Ability to work closely with others and maintain professionalism. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Strong ability to maintain and organize calendars, files, emails and more.
  • Proofreading documents to ensure grammatical and linguistic accuracy. 
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and discuss sensitive topics with care and appropriateness.
