WAND-TV News in Decatur, IL is looking for a full-time Producer who can emerge as a newsroom leader, make decisions, and then execute a coverage plan on-air and online.

Essential Duties:
- Create daily newscast for television broadcast
- Develop coverage plan of news with the news team
- Responsible for the writing and organization of newscasts
- Work closely with reporters and photographers for efficient coverage of daily news
- Create compelling graphics for graphic applications to integrate into newscast
- Proofread copy to find errors, make corrections, and guide others to improve writing
- Assist digital team with proofing, writing, and publishing stories on various digital platforms
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and expert communication skills that help tie all aspects of newscast together
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Creative and critical thinking is a must.
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills
- Knowledge of broadcast production, graphics, sports, and weather
- Solid news judgment
- Requires intelligence, diligence, strong ethics and accuracy
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field required
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a broadcast news producer or position requiring knowledge of current events and trends.

Expected pay range for this position is $35,000 - $40,000 annually based on experience.
