This position is located at Eglin AFB, FL. The Infrastructure Electrical Technician will be a certified industrial-grade journeyman electrician experienced with the planning, installation, and troubleshooting of three phase power distribution systems. The electrical technician will work within the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Munitions Directorate, Ordnance Division, Energetic Materials Branch. The ideal candidate will possess a good working knowledge of motor control circuits and be familiar with electrical installations in hazardous locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Certified Industrial-grade Journeyman Electrician.
• Minimum of 8 years experience.
• Installation of electrical systems in hazardous industrial locations.
• Able to read and interpret building construction drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• An active SECRET security clearance or equivalent.
• Experience with programing, installation and troubleshooting PLC systems.
• Experience with installation and troubleshooting of hydraulic lines and hydraulic controls.
• Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of building wide vacuum systems.
• Experience with installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of site wide compressed air and compressed air-drying systems. Experience with installing and troubleshooting pneumatic controls.
• Experience in performing scheduled maintenance on various types of equipment: electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical.
• Able to use computer assisted design software to plan and document new systems installations.
• Experience with DoD facilities.
• Experience in hazardous energetic materials environments.
