About TGA
TGA (Tennis, Golf, and Athletics) is a national youth sports enrichment program that introduces children to a variety of sports in a fun, engaging, and educational environment. We partner with schools, daycares, and community organizations to provide structured classes for children ages 3–10, focusing on skill development, physical activity, and character building.
Position Summary
TGA Instructors are responsible for delivering high-quality sports instruction in tennis, golf, and general athletics to young children in a group setting. Instructors create a fun, safe, and supportive environment while teaching fundamental skills and life values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence.
This is a part-time role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and have a passion for sports, coaching, or education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct youth classes (ages 3–10) in tennis, golf, and athletics using the TGA curriculum
- Create a fun, energetic, and structured learning environment
- Teach age-appropriate fundamentals (e.g., tennis strokes, golf swing basics, coordination, agility, and movement skills)
- Maintain safe coach-to-student ratios and ensure student safety at all times
- Set up and break down equipment before and after each class
- Manage groups of children with strong classroom and behavior management skills
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and program coordinators
- Track attendance and provide feedback when needed
- Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the TGA program
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (coaching, teaching, camp counseling, childcare, etc.)
- Interest or experience in tennis, golf, or general athletics
- Energetic, reliable, and outgoing personality
- Strong communication and group management skills
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation to travel to program locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching or teaching youth sports
- Background in tennis or golf (playing or coaching experience a plus, not required)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time; typically weekday mornings and/or afternoons
- Classes run in sessions (6–10 weeks)
