ABOUT THE COMPANY

Quanta Aviation Services (QAS) is a subsidiary of Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR), a Fortune 200 company and the largest specialty contractor in North America. We deploy helicopter crews and aircraft internationally to do some of the most demanding work in the industry: stringing and patrolling high-voltage transmission lines, supporting heavy construction in terrain no ground crew can reach, and fighting wildfires from the air when conditions are at their worst. Our operating companies (PJ Helicopters, Winco Aviation, Wilson Utility Helicopters, Quanta Aviation Services, and Billings Flying Service) run a combined fleet of over 80 rotorwing aircraft ranging from light utility to heavy-lift platforms.

The FP&A function at QAS sits at the center of the business; consolidating financial performance across five operating companies, supporting executive decision-making, and building the data infrastructure that drives competitive insight. AI has accelerated what this team can do and we are looking to develop the next generation of talent that can own and expand that capability.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is not a shadow internship. You will be assigned real work; your results will directly impcact operating decisions and opportunities across QAS. You will report directly to the FP&A Manager and, by the end of 12 weeks, will have built something that you present in front of people who care about the outcome.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are a helicopter company, we are nimble and move fast; the projects we are planning today will likely be completed before the internship, and the ones we will start next month may not even be an possible today. You will be assigned a project that fits the nature of the role and aligns with the demands of the company.  This can span the range of scheduling, inventory management, allocations, valuation, or any mixture of related financial modeling, planning, or analysis.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

We use a simple filter: hungry, humble, and smart.

  • Hungry - You are seeking to learn, to challenge, to create. You find the next level of questions, go one layer deeper than asked, and take ownership of your work because it has your name on it permanently.
  • Humble - You don’t know what you don't know, and anybody from mechanic to president may have that answer. Ask good questions, take feedback without ego, and give credit where it is due. You are here to learn and contribute; humility is how you will make an impression.
  • Smart - You can create simplicity out of complexity. You see patterns in data, know when something doesn't foot, and translate messy information into a clear story.

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Strong Excel skills - you should be comfortable with financial modeling, pivot tables, and data manipulation
  • Familiarity with data visualization concepts; Power BI experience or drive to learn quickly
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort working with large, messy datasets
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills

Preferred (helpful but not required):

  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or DAX
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted analysis tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT applied to finance workflows)
  • Exposure to ERP or financial systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
  • Background - we honestly do not care, exceptional people do the ordinary exceptionally well.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or other data manipulation languages

WHAT YOU WILL GET

  • Direct mentorship from an FP&A leader with deep expertise across financial reporting, data engineering, and AI-enabled finance
  • Real executive exposure - you will present to QAS leadership, not just prep slides for someone else to deliver
  • Experience working across five operating subsidiaries with different business models as well as interacting with a fortune 200 company, giving you breadth most interns don't get
  • A working knowledge of modern FP&A tooling: Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Artificial Intelligence
  • A portfolio of actual deliverables (models / dashboards / analyses) that you can speak to in future interviews
