Graduate Assistant - Engineering - First Year Engineering Mentors

Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant supports implementation of Land of Opportunity (LOO) programming and scholar support initiatives within the College of Engineering sounder cohort structure. This role facilitates required sounder meetings and events, conducts individual scholar support conversations, assists with onboarding and transition efforts, and supports tracking of required college-based LOO activities across all undergraduate years.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled at the University of Arkansas as a full-time graduate student during the 2026-2027 academic year (beginning in August 2026)

Must be admitted into the Graduate school and accepted into a graduate degree or certificate program

Maintain good academic standing and progression toward graduate degree completion

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate has previous experience with mentoring programs, the College of Engineering, and event planning (relatable experiences could be substituted)
