Financial Analyst

Job Summary: The Financial Analyst is a key member of Eldora’s Finance and Accounting department, reporting to the Finance Director.  The position is primarily responsible for overseeing financial processes in support of ongoing operations and may also assist in supporting various accounting processes.  This position helps to coordinate the annual budget, forecasting, monthly close/reporting, inventory control, capital planning, reporting, and is responsible for ad-hoc analysis.  The ideal candidate is motivated, self-directed, and comfortable presenting and collaborating with employees at all levels of the company. This role is primarily onsite. While there may be occasional opportunities to work remotely, candidates must be able to commute to Eldora most days.

 

Financial Support & Oversight:

  • Prepare, Review, and Distribute monthly P&L reports
  • Collaborate with Budget Owners on review and analysis of results
  • Prepare weekly consolidated reporting package for Resort Leadership Team and Resort Management Team, including commentary and analysis
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial results for meetings with parent company
  • Facilitate annual planning and budget process
  • Support and train staff in company financial and accounting systems and procedures 
  • Develop and improve financial reporting tools and processes
  • Analyze variances from forecasted plans, report results, and recommend solutions
  • Provide analytical support for annual plan reviews, target setting, and other initiatives
  • Support Capital planning, reporting, and variance analysis

 

Accounting & A/P:

  • Sort mail and redistribute/process accordingly
  • Support invoice flow to accounts payable department
  • Administer training and local user setup in Accounts Payable platform (Coupa)
  • Assist with vendor/supplier onboarding
  • Track expense reporting accuracy and process reimbursement activity
  • Manage & process out of pocket reimbursements
  • Support resort purchasing guidelines and internal audit procedures 
  • Provide ad-hoc expense analysis and reporting

This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.

Education and Experience:

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of finance – forecasting techniques, DCF, sensitivity analysis, regression analysis, budgeting, 3 statement model, version management
  • Dynamic, pro-active, resourceful, and practical
  • Works well with Teams
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build complex Excel models (data collection, lookups/index/match, visualizations/charts, etc.)
  • Ability to work with and relate to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner
  • Effective written and oral skills
  • Required:  Undergraduate degree; ideally in finance, business administration, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting preferred
  • Preferred:  MBA, or Masters with a focus on finance
  • Strong experience/skills with Excel modeling/formatting, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word, and Office 365 collaboration environment (Teams/Sharepoint)
  • Skiing/snowboarding experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR and BG check
  • Must be at least 18 years old to operate company vehicles.

 

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $60,000-69,000/year, depending on experience.

Benefits: This position is full-time hourly, year round position and includes an outstanding benefit package.
