Research Analyst

The Research Analyst will be involved in many aspects of the economic and research inputs to our investment platform. She or he will participate in the team’s ongoing research and investment analysis, creation of firmwide materials, and third-party manager due diligence. This role offers the opportunity to learn and contribute to the firm’s core investment research functions while working closely with senior members of the team.

How you will contribute:

  • Update and continuously improve the library of investment research accessing third-party databases, including Bloomberg, Morningstar, FRED, etc.
  • Develop high-quality, professional investment presentation materials (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) used in client and firmwide communications.
  • Perform macroeconomic research and create visualizations for quarterly publications.
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver data-directed insights and scalable research.
  • Participate in due diligence and monitoring of investment strategies. 
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools (including chatbots, application assistants, etc.) to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability of investment research and related workflows.
  • Consult with national advisor base on investment related topics and inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge:

• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) as well as one or more investment databases (Bloomberg, Morningstar, FRED, etc.).

• Comfort using, evaluating, and learning AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis, and workflow efficiency, while exercising sound professional judgment.

Skills:

• Ability to work with, structure and interpret large amounts of economic and financial data while demonstrating excellent attention to detail.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. The Research Analyst will be expected to communicate to a wide range of constituents – internal management, colleagues, clients and asset managers.

• Impeccable ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Excellent personal and professional references.

Abilities:

• A self-starter who takes ownership for their work.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and thoughtful examinations. 

• Experience operating successfully in a team-based, rigorous environment. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

Experience and Education:

We will consider any combination of experience and education which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. A typical way to acquire the requirements would be:

• Zero to three years of experience in an investment management-related industry (asset management, investment banking, endowment, foundation, corporate/public pension fund, family office, wealth management). Exceptional undergraduate candidates will be considered as well. 

• Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business or finance or related field. 

• Progress towards the CFA designation preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Primarily sedentary work in an office with minimal distractions; walking throughout the office. Learn and memorize tasks; execute tasks independently; apply knowledge and use judgment to manage situations. Occasionally exert up to ten pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Perform repetitive motions; substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers for computer keyboard operation. Use near visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing documents, operating a computer, and reading. Speak and hear to communicate with team members and clients by phone and in-person.
