About Design Master Associates

Design Master Associates is a custom product design and manufacturing company serving museums, historic sites, and destination retailers nationwide. We develop unique, story‑driven gift ware—from ornaments and collectibles to custom keepsakes—working closely with customers from concept through production and delivery.

We are a small, dedicated team that values collaboration, accountability, and a can‑do attitude. Everyone contributes, and everyone’s role matters.

Position Overview

The Sales Account Executive is a hands‑on, in‑office role focused on building customer relationships and shepherding custom projects from first conversation through final delivery. While some travel is necessary for this position, the majority of customer interaction takes place via E-mail, phone calls and Zoom, including virtual walk through of our showroom that allow customers to experience our product line without extensive travel.

This role works side‑by‑side with our gift ware designers and project management, acting as the primary customer liaison throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop assigned and acquired customer accounts through consultative, relationship‑based selling

• Conduct customer meetings primarily via Zoom, including virtual showroom tours and concept reviews

• Some travel for in‑person customer visits, trade shows, or key presentations

• Serve as the point person guiding each custom project from initial meeting through design, sampling, production, and delivery.

• Collaborate closely with in‑house design team and project management to ensure customer goals, timelines, and expectations are met

• Present product concepts, pricing, and timelines clearly and professionally

• Maintain accurate communication, follow‑up, and documentation throughout the sales and development process

• Represent Design Master Associates with professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail

• Work with management to establish and report on sales goals

• Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow into a consultative sales role

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

• Comfortable selling via Zoom and building relationships remotely

• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage many multiple projects simultaneously

• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to jump in and help where needed

• Creative, solution‑oriented approach to sales and customer service

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; comfortable learning new tools

Experience

Sales experience is a plus but not required. This role may be a great fit for a recent graduate or early‑career professional with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and an interest in learning consultative sales within a creative, project‑driven environment. (B2B, consultative, or outside sales a plus)

We’re open to candidates from a range of early‑career backgrounds. This role can be an excellent fit for someone coming from:

• Marketing, communications, or branding (strong writing, storytelling, and presenting)

Design-adjacent roles (product, graphic, interior, or merchandising) with customer-facing experience

• Agency / account coordination / client services

• Event, hospitality, or retail management with strong relationship skills

• Advertising or media sales (consultative selling and relationship building)

Experience working with custom products, creative services, advertising, or gift ware is helpful but not required.

What matters most is the ability to connect with people, communicate clearly, and guide a creative project forward with strong follow‑through.
