Recovery Veterinarian

Recovery Veterinarian (Part-Time, Contract)
📍 Bend, Oregon

We are seeking a veterinarian to oversee post-operative recovery during high-volume spay/neuter clinics serving underserved communities.

This role is critical to patient safety and team function and is ideal for newer graduates seeking hands-on experience or veterinarians looking for flexible, mission-driven work.

What You’ll Do:
• Oversee recovery of canine and feline patients following surgery
• Monitor anesthesia recovery and ensure patient safety
• Lead and support a volunteer recovery team (varied experience levels)
• Communicate clearly with team members to maintain efficient patient flow and safe handoffs
• Help ensure smooth transitions from surgery through discharge

Schedule:
• One weekend per month (Friday–Sunday)
• Flexible participation; consistent availability is a plus

Compensation:
• 1099 contract position
• No benefits
• Compensation reflects the nonprofit, mission-focused nature of the role
