Sales Development Representative Intern
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern is an introduction to the hybrid position of sales development and account management. As an Intern, there is an opportunity to experience a realistic job preview of the role. The internship will showcase the importance of ‘cold calling’ as a skill critical to success as an SDR. The position reports to an Industry Sales Manager or other designated member of the ABG Leadership Team and is supported by the Operations Manager. An ABG Mentor is assigned to assist the Intern with on-boarding, cultural introductions, and day-to-day operations-based questions. The Intern will be trained by the ABG Trainer along with support from across the ABG team.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Building records for existing clients and/or next ‘on-deck’ industries
• Sourcing manual information for lists and properly recording/updating SalesForce records
• Learn the Arsenal pitch and rehearse effective delivery
• Completing ‘Arsenal’ calls to continue build-out of our book of business including cold-calling and distribution of e-mail solicitations
• Data management to ensure Arsenal pipeline reflects organize, accurate, and current records.
• Set ‘Arsenal’ appointments; and, follow-up with prospects, as appropriate
• Train and gain proficiency in effective use of software applications including SalesForce, RingCentral, Balto, Outlook, and related Microsoft Office applications.
• Regular, predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or other related discipline from an accredited university preferred.
• Sales experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a confident, professional demeanor.
• Ability to convert conversations with stakeholders or key decision-makers to appointments (resulting in business growth).
• Candidates must be able to show resilience, curiosity, intuition, business acumen, strategic thinking, repetition, and conviction.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
• High level of organization and time management skills.
• Ability to take feedback and continuously improve sales techniques.
Additional Information
• $15/hr
• Additional $100 per sales meeting leading to new customer.
• 20+ hours per week working within 4 or more-hour increments.
