Data & Dashboard Intern
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data & Dashboard Intern to support our organization’s efforts in aggregating, analyzing, and visualizing data through Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI. This internship provides hands-on experience at the intersection of data management, risk monitoring, and public accountability reporting.
The intern will contribute directly to three priority workstreams: (1) building internal dashboards that support leadership monitoring of key operational and strategic risks, (2) aggregating data from multiple sources and making it accessible in SharePoint, and (3) developing external-facing data outputs that communicate performance metrics transparently to the public.

Duration: 3 months (flexible), 40 hours/ week
Location: Work location is determined on a case-by-case basis; hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
Compensation: $20.70/ hr

Key Responsibilities
Data Aggregation & Management
- Collect, clean, and consolidate data from multiple internal sources including spreadsheets, databases, and third-party systems.
- Develop and maintain automated data pipelines within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting tools.
- Document data sources, definitions, and transformation logic for institutional reference.
- Aggregate data from disparate internal and external sources into a unified, accessible format.
- Organize and publish consolidated datasets in SharePoint to ensure stakeholders have timely, centralized access to current information.
Internal Risk Monitoring Dashboards
- Design and build interactive Power Apps dashboards providing real-time visibility into key organizational risks.
- Work with department leads to identify critical risk indicators and translate them into measurable, visual metrics.
- Maintain and update dashboards on a regular cadence as new data becomes available.
- Support development of alert mechanisms and threshold-based flagging for risk escalation.
External Public Reporting
- Compile and format performance metrics for external audiences in alignment with reporting standards and organizational transparency commitments.
- Assist in creating public-facing visualizations and summary reports accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Support coordination with communications or compliance teams to ensure accuracy and appropriate disclosure of public data.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on dashboard development progress.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including risk, compliance, operations, and communications teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and training materials for dashboard end-users.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Data Science, Information Systems, Public Policy, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Basic experience with or coursework in data visualization or business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present data to non-technical audiences.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power BI, or Power Automate.
- Experience or capacity to create data mining infrastructure.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Dataverse, or other Microsoft data connectors.
- Exposure to SQL, Python, or R for data querying and analy
