Entry-Level Attorney — Special Education Law

Law Office of Philippe Gerschel | New York, NY

Plaintiff-side special education firm seeks an entry-level attorney to draft due process complaints, motions, briefs, and other filings, and to appear and advocate at administrative hearings. You will review educational records, conduct legal research, prepare cases for hearing, and represent families before Impartial Hearing Officers. This is a litigation role: you will be on your feet in hearings and drafting for active cases. 

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; bar admission or pending admission accepted
  • Strong communication, legal writing, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Interest in education law, disability rights, or child advocacy
  • Comfort with technology and legal software
