Our client, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated IT Project Lead to join their IT Division in Lansing, MI. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to resolve problems, inspire team members, and deliver high-quality solutions. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing project documentation, applying project management methodologies, performing risk analysis, and facilitating effective communication and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.
This position is through our Elevate Program, which is our early talent program providing on the job technical training, mentorship and professional development. This specific program is for aspiring leaders with a desire to pursue management. Please review the qualifications and responsibilities below:
As an Elevate consultant you will be immersed in a supportive learning environment that includes:
- Full-time, entry-level IT career (40hrs week)
- Technical Training (80-100 hours): Receive focused, hands-on technical training around Project Leader and IT Management. This training is designed to build upon your existing knowledge and equip you with practical skills for your role.
- Professional Development: Enhance your soft skills, communication, and business acumen through dedicated professional development sessions.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with experienced IT professionals, mentors, and peers within the Elevate program and at client sites.
- Mentorship: Be paired with experienced mentors who will provide guidance, support, and insights as you navigate your early IT career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Coordinate and oversee work for IT projects involving multiple team members
- Create and execute project work plans to adapt to changing needs and requirements
- Identify resource needs and collaborate with leaders to assign individual tasks
- Prepare, review, and ensure completeness and accuracy of project-related documents before sharing with stakeholders, ensuring they are current and appropriately stored
- Apply project management methodologies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
- Perform risk analysis and recommend actions to mitigate project risks
- Ensure projects meet stakeholder objectives and deliverables
- Facilitate team meetings and resolve project conflicts within and outside the team
- Write routine reports and correspondence related to project progress
- Understand complex concepts related to the project and communicate them effectively
- Inspire and motivate team members to achieve goals and pursue excellence
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A desire to pursue a career in management
- Experience coordinating projects with multiple team members
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to perform risk analysis and recommend mitigation actions
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experience levels
- Strong problem resolution and decision-making skills
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- GPA 3.3 minimum
