Quality Engineering Intern

The Quality Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting various personnel in the Quality department during the work assignment. The Quality Intern will support day-to-day Quality related duties and will be assigned Quality related projects to help improve the Quality Department. The intern will be exposed to various Quality related duties to provide a well-rounded Quality experience during the internship. The Quality Engineering internship will broaden the skills of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or similar curriculum students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in a safe manner, adhere to safety rules and requirements, and promote safe working practices.
  • Lead and complete assigned projects.
  • Conduct data analysis by developing and interpreting Pareto and Trend Charts.
  • Conduct internal audits against work instructions and the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001 standards.
  • Research and recommend corrective actions for internal and customer quality issues.
  • Measure parts using blueprints and precision measurement instrument.
  • Measure and monitor contamination levels in production processes.
  • Provide administrative assistance as needed.

Projects

  • Create and issue Supplier Quality Manual working with Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers.
  • Create an effective test fluid filtering map that will ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and develop a control plan to react to out of control conditions.

Education and Skills 

  • Seeking a student pursuing Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology degree.
  • Junior or Senior with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership.
  • Must be organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Must have a strong analytical competence.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must be a self-starter and have a strong work ethic.
