POSITION OVERVIEW
We're looking for a reliable, hardworking Shop Helper to support our experienced fabrication team. This is an entry-level position — no prior metalworking experience required — but you need to show up ready to work, learn fast, and take direction well. You'll be working alongside skilled fabricators on high-end custom projects, handling the support tasks that keep the shop running: cutting parts, grinding, material handling, cleaning, and general shop work.
If you're mechanically inclined, not afraid to get your hands dirty, and want to learn a skilled trade from the ground up, this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door at a reputable shop.
Full-time | Day shift, Monday–Thursday | Overtime as needed
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Cut metal parts using saws and other shop equipment under direction from senior fabricators
- Grind, de-burr, and finish metal parts to prep for welding or final assembly
- Move and stage materials throughout the shop
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked
- Assist experienced fabricators with assembly, fit-up, and finishing tasks
- Learn to operate basic shop equipment safely
- Help load and unload materials and finished products
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- No experience required, but is helpful — we will train the right person
- Mechanically inclined with a desire to learn fabrication and metalworking
- Reliable — shows up on time, every day, ready to work
- Takes direction well and communicates clearly
- Comfortable working in a shop environment (noise, dust, metal, standing all day)
- Basic math skills (measuring, fractions)
- Any prior shop, construction, or hands-on trade experience is a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to report to our North Salt Lake, UT shop location
