Extension 4-H STEM Summer Intern - Kane County
Make a difference in the lives of young people through hands-on learning and leadership development. This internship supports 4-H and youth programs that help youth build life skills, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging while exploring a wide-variety of interests. Interns will gain meaningful, real-world experience delivering programs, mentoring youth, and engaging with communities.
You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values creativity, positive youth development, and community connection. This role offers a mix of in-person programming and planning, with opportunities for flexible scheduling depending on program needs. Responsibilities
Program & Event Support
- Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of 4-H summer technology and hands-on learning camps, gaining experience in youth program development
Education & Content Development
- Lead small-group learning activities, building skills in youth engagement, teaching, and positive youth development
Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Support outreach and marketing efforts
Research & Evaluation
- Participate in program evaluation and reflection
Professional Development & Other Duties
- Provide supervision and mentorship to youth participants, fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
- Be an undergraduate student
- Have an interest in the Extension program
- Be dependable
