Patient Care Coordinator

Position Summary 
Mass Lung & Allergy is seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to support front-office operations and enhance the patient experience. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, staff, and providers, helping ensure efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Flexibility to support multiple MLA locations may be required. 
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (no nights or weekends). 

Key Responsibilities 
Greet patients, check them in, and verify insurance, referrals, and demographic information 
Answer multi-line phones, assist callers, and route messages appropriately Schedule and confirm appointments for new and existing patients 
Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and self-pay payments 
Contact patients regarding missing or incorrect information prior to appointments 
Assist patients with forms, patient portal, kiosk use, and general questions Process faxes, voicemails, and documentation accurately in the EMR system Support insurance/claims follow-up and front-office administrative duties Check out patients and schedule follow-up visits 
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and waiting area 
Support coverage at other MLA locations or Call Center when needed 
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations and patient care 

Education & Experience 
High school diploma or GED required 
Medical office or healthcare experience preferred 
EMR experience (eCW or similar) a plus 
Insurance/referral knowledge helpful but not required 

Qualifications 
Strong communication and customer service skills 
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask 
Comfortable with computers, phones, and office technology 
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented 
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
Commitment to HIPAA and patient confidentiality 
Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply 
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between offices if required
