Production Support 1

  1. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Production Support 1 is responsible for basic, daily production activities. This includes parts on/parts off in the Injection Molding department (or performing similar duties by supporting other processes such as Carbon, Urethane, 3-D Printing or HP), installing inserts or basic finishing of parts. This role reports to the Floor Supervisors and works closely with the Operations Manager. Production Support 1 must be able to communicate effectively, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage their personal workload.            

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Injection Molding
  2. Operate injection molding equipment safely and effectively
  3. Perform finishing tasks with basic hand tools as assigned
  4. Count and package parts to ensure accuracy and preservation of product
  5. Report and record defects and communicate with Floor Supervisor
  6. Read, understand, and adhere to operational policies, quality policies, and safety policies
  7. Ensure cleanliness of work area
    1. Quality Assurance
      1. Visually inspect parts to requirements and detect errors
      2. Communicate with quality control to verify part acceptance
      3. Perform in-process inspections

 

  1. Operations
    1. Installation of inserts as assigned
    2. Read, understand, and adhere to traveler and blueprint instructions while learning how to read basic blueprints
    3. Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Injection mold experience preferred, but training will be provided
  • Basic computer skills and basic math skills

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable transportation
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 25 pounds, bend into machinery, and perform lifting, push/pull tasks, kneeling and stooping motions, ability to push buttons, fine motor skills
  • Experience reading blueprints preferred
