Job Description: Lafayette College’s Communications Division is looking for a student worker to generate content that can be shared in the College’s media channels including our online newsroom, Lafayette Today newsletter, alumni magazine, and more. 

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to gather information and write short stories on topics such as campus events, student research, faculty expertise, and College news. 
  • Ability to interview faculty/staff/students and write short stories that highlight the accomplishments of members of the campus community. 
  • Looking for a motivated, energetic student who is comfortable attending events, interacting with other students, and interviewing faculty/staff. 
  • Ability to take photos and/or videos is a plus. 

This is an opportunity to gain writing samples and learn from professionals with backgrounds in journalism, communications, and marketing. 

 

Hours per week: Dependent on assignments 

Required work schedule: No required hours, however, student(s) must be willing to attend College events as needed. 

Compensation: $9.50/hour. 

Location: On-campus, but some of the job may need to be done on campus (ie. attending in-person events, taking photos, etc.) but some of the job can be done remotely (ie attending virtual events, interviewing students/profs over Zoom, writing content).
