2026 Temporary (Summer) Lab/IPP Assistant

SUMMER OPENINGS are available at the following locations:

 

All Summer Lab/IPP employees will work Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM and be paid an hourly wage of $18.50 to $21.50

 

ARTP: 9290 Farrand Rd Montrose, MI 48457* – 1 Opening

*this employee may on occasion perform work at the Water Treatment Plant located at 4414 Stanley Rd Columbiaville, MI 48421

 

Successful applicants must meet the minimum qualifications below in addition to the following conditions:

 

Job Duties:  Receives on the job training. Assists with various duties including: 

 

LAB                                                                                   IPP

Assist with plant and project sampling                            Assist in field work-sampling and inspections

Learn basic lab tests -procedures                                   Assist with cleaning of equipment 

Cleaning/organizing                                                         Organization and cleaning of equipment storage area

Transport samples to contract labs                                 Assist with field inspections 

Courier samples needed                                                  Cleaning/Organizing

Any additional projects at the plants                               Any additional projects at the plants

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current College students enrolled in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or related major is preferred.
  • Laboratory experience is preferred. 
  • Computer skills necessary to maintain various departmental records and enter data into accounting software.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to provide courteous and accurate information to all levels of staff, customers, and others.

 

Licenses/Certificates and Special Requirements: 

  • Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy.
  • Offer of employment will be contingent on the individual’s ability to successfully pass an employment physical and drug screen.
