The Prison Industries Administrator serves as the lead California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority (CALCTRA) staff at California Men's Colony Prison. Programs include: Fabric, Knitting Mill, Printing, Shoes, Healthcare Facilities Maintenance, Maintenance and Repair, Warehousing, and Office and Administration. The Administrator provides leadership, direction, and supervision of the programs with responsibility for all CALCTRA civil service and incarcerated individuals' employees. The Prison Industries Administrator reports to the Central Office Assistant Deputy Director, Facility Operations, and serves on the Warden's Executive Staff.


Desirable Qualifications

These are not required but are listed to demonstrate what experience/education would make the selected candidate most successful in this position. If you have this education/experience, you are encouraged to include this information in your application.

  • Supervisory Experience.
  • Budget Experience: Cost accounting, Fiscal management, Budget procedures. 
  • Human Resources Experience: Facilitating and enforcing departmental HR policy within an organization.
  • Computer knowledge: Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, manufacturing systems (Sage X3), etc.
  • Experience working with multiple manufacturing enterprises: Planning, facilitating, designing, organizing, and implementing various products and services.
  • Production and inventory management experience.
