Quality Assurance Engineer - CMM Programmer

Stein Seal Company is a growing manufacturing company that services the commercial and government aerospace industries, as well as the nuclear and power generation industries. Stein Seal is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer with a discipline in CMM programming that safeguards the organization from nonconforming products being shipped to the customer by creating and validating CMM programs to measure components accurately and efficiently. This position will deal directly with all levels of manufacturing and is responsible for the job functions listed below.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate CMM Programs Using Calypso Software 
    • Configure Fixturing Setup 
    • Program With CAD Models When Model Is Available 
    • Program Without CAD Models When Model Is Not Available 
    • Program Online At The Machine
    •  Program Offline 
    • Validate Programs Via Another Method (Typically Mechanically) Approve CMM Programs
  • Determine Appropriate Tool To Measure A Feature
  • Troubleshoot Measurement Concerns 
    • Machine 
    • Program 
    • Fixturing
  • Mechanically Inspect
    • Indicators
    • Micrometers 
    • Calipers 
    • Gauge Blocks 
    • Gauge Pins
  • Setup Machines 
    • New Purchases 
    • After Calibration
  • Maintain CMM Inventory 
    • Probe systems 
    • Fixtures 
    • Racks
  • Operate CMM’s 
  • Quality Documentation/Reports – (Inspection Methods, Tool Selection, Work Instructions, Standard Work, ETC) 
    • Create/Review/Approve/Maintain/Train
  • Risk Based Assessments
  • Representative of Stein Seal for Internal/External Audits 
  • Continuous Improvement: 
    • Promote, Participate And Assist The Organization To Always Improve
  • Other Duties As Assigned

 

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management or Mechanical Engineering or applicable experience
  • (5+) years working in an Aerospace Production environment
  • Inspection technique knowledge including CMM’s
  • Aerospace Auditing/ISO Auditing - Problem solving - RCCA/8D
  • Read And Interpret Blueprints – Apply Appropriately To CMM program/Mechanical Inspection
    • Fundamentals of GD&T ASME 14.5Y:2018 
    • Advance GD&T ASME 14.5Y:2018 
  • Willing to train the right candidate
