Gateway Regional School District is seeking a 9-12 Chemistry or Environmental Science Teacher

 

Qualified Candidates Must:

  • Have a MA 8-12 Chemistry Teaching License or related license (August 25, 2026) Required
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience teaching in a high school setting (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Hold an unwavering belief that every student can grow and succeed.

Professional Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Teach Chemistry and additional science courses within the fields of Chemistry and/or Environmental Science, using engaging, standards-aligned, and inquiry-based instructional practices.
  • Design and implement rigorous lesson plans, labs, and assessments that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of scientific concepts.
  • Maintain a safe and well-managed laboratory environment, including proper use, storage, and disposal of chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English language learners.
  • Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Incorporate technology, data analysis, and hands-on experimentation to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with science department colleagues and cross-disciplinary teams to align curriculum, share best practices, and support student success.
  • Participate in curriculum development and ongoing refinement of course materials to reflect current scientific practices and standards.
  • Provide academic support to students through extra help, review sessions, and other interventions as needed.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respect, and a growth mindset in science learning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including grades, attendance, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
  • Participate in assigned duties in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, professional development, required trainings, and other school-based or district meetings throughout the school year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration to support the overall success of the school community.

Rate of pay: $52,803-$91,482, dependent upon education and experience.
