Chemistry Teacher
Gateway Regional School District is seeking a 9-12 Chemistry or Environmental Science Teacher
Qualified Candidates Must:
- Have a MA 8-12 Chemistry Teaching License or related license (August 25, 2026) Required
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience teaching in a high school setting (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Professional Responsibilities Include:
- Teach Chemistry and additional science courses within the fields of Chemistry and/or Environmental Science, using engaging, standards-aligned, and inquiry-based instructional practices.
- Design and implement rigorous lesson plans, labs, and assessments that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of scientific concepts.
- Maintain a safe and well-managed laboratory environment, including proper use, storage, and disposal of chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English language learners.
- Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Incorporate technology, data analysis, and hands-on experimentation to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with science department colleagues and cross-disciplinary teams to align curriculum, share best practices, and support student success.
- Participate in curriculum development and ongoing refinement of course materials to reflect current scientific practices and standards.
- Provide academic support to students through extra help, review sessions, and other interventions as needed.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respect, and a growth mindset in science learning.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including grades, attendance, and other required documentation.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in assigned duties in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, professional development, required trainings, and other school-based or district meetings throughout the school year.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration to support the overall success of the school community.
Rate of pay: $52,803-$91,482, dependent upon education and experience.
