Essential Functions

The College of Information Science and Technology is seeking Master’s Graduate Students to support instructional activities for undergraduate courses as a teaching assistant. These positions are ideal for students who are seeking their Master’s degree and interested in enhancing their teaching and facilitation skills. As a teaching assistant, you will work under the guidance of a course instructor to provide essential support to students, ensuring a productive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Attend all scheduled lectures to stay aligned with course content and teaching objectives.
  • Conduct lab sessions, including preparing materials, assisting students, and ensuring a supportive lab environment.
  • Grade student assignments, providing constructive feedback and tracking performance as directed by the course instructor.
  • Proctor and grade exams held outside of scheduled class hours, ensuring integrity and fair assessment.
  • Provide additional support to students as needed, which may include holding office hours or assisting with review sessions.
  • Collaborate with the supervising course instructor on course-related tasks and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Current full-time enrollment in a relevant Master’s program at UNO.
  • Strong understanding of assigned class and excellent academic standing in related coursework.
  • Effective communication skills and a supportive attitude toward student learning.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines for grading and other duties.
  • UNO graduate GPA of at least 3.5
  • Completed all foundation requirements for a College of IS&T graduate program.
