Dermatology Receptionist and Patient Ambassador
The Front Desk Receptionist / Patient Ambassador serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering an exceptional and welcoming experience while ensuring efficient front office operations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ideal candidates are proactive, dependable, and demonstrate a desire to grow into leadership roles within the organization. We are seeking someone to start as soon as possible. Please note this is a full time- permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience & Customer Service
- Greet all patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and positive first impression
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient needs, concerns, and inquiries promptly and courteously
- Maintain a calm, solution-oriented approach when handling patient concerns or high-volume situations
- Uphold patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Front Desk Operations
- Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation
- Collect copays, balances, and process payments in accordance with office policies
- Answer and manage high-volume phone calls with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments while optimizing provider schedules
Attendance & Reliability
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality; consistently arrive on time and ready to work
- Demonstrate reliability and accountability in daily responsibilities
- Support team coverage as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations
Attention to Detail
- Ensure accuracy in patient registration, insurance verification, and data entry
- Follow established protocols and workflows with precision
- Identify and proactively correct errors or discrepancies
Multitasking & Workflow Management
- Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Prioritize responsibilities while maintaining a high level of service and accuracy
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office, preferably dermatology.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR systems
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills—both in person and by phone.
- Professional demeanor, neat appearance, and positive attitude.
- Proven punctuality, reliability, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

The role is a full time position Monday - Friday. Shifts are scheduled between both our offices located in Mclean and Vienna, Virginia.
