POSITION:  Domestic Relations Officer (Case Management)

CLASSIFICATION:  Unit I.D. 1603 (A.C.A.P.E. Professional Union)

LOCATION:  Family Division, Adult Section 440 Ross Street, Pittsburgh, PA  15219

STATUS:  Full-Time, Benefits Eligible

SALARY:  $46,418.00 annually

 

SUMMARYPerform professional work primarily related to the establishment and enforcement of support orders.  Position includes extensive client contact in interviewing clients, gathering financial information in order to calculate guideline support amounts and/or delinquent support owed, and conducting settlement discussions with support litigants resulting in a consent order on the issues.   

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient computer skills; experience in Windows environment. Ability to use virtual systems such as TEAMS.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in resolution techniques and ability to resolve difficult case situations.
  • Experience working with clients in problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Ability and skills to perform mathematical/financial calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.   
  • Individual expected to fully perform position responsibilities with six months of assumption of duties.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure; deal with stress associated with confidential Court environment and time restrictions.  Must be able to sit, reach, bend, stoop and stand, perform repetitive motions with wrists, hand and fingers, daily handwriting over long periods and performing computer input duties, open/close files, physically/vision sufficient to perform job duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct support conferences with intent to obtain consent agreements/orders regarding support amount. 
  • Identify and handle case specific issues impacting case status.
  • Conduct enforcement conferences with intent to collect delinquent, unpaid support obligations.
  • Handle walk-in clients with purge and/or contempt issues, active bench warrants, or ten-day appearance letters, as needed. 
  • Maintain and supplement knowledge of the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement Computer System (PACSES) and its functions.
