Cayenne Wellness – Internship Opportunities (Hybrid & Remote)
About the Opportunity
Cayenne Wellness is seeking motivated and mission-driven students to support community outreach, healthcare initiatives, housing navigation, and partnership development. These roles offer a mix of remote and hybrid experiences and are designed to provide hands-on, real-world experience working with underserved communities.
This internship may lead to ongoing opportunities, leadership roles, and continued project work.
Internship Roles & Responsibilities
Role 1: Outreach & Recruitment (Hybrid)
- Table at your assigned college campus to recruit interns and volunteers (in-person component)
- Post internship opportunities across partner schools on Handshake
- Recruit and onboard students to support outreach efforts
- Conduct follow-up and engagement remotely
Role 2: Campus Partnerships & Blood Drive Coordination
- Contact departments such as Athletics, Nursing, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, and Community Engagement
- Coordinate meetings to introduce on-campus blood drive opportunities
- Gather and submit available meeting times for leadership
- Recruit interns to support and host blood drives
- If local, assist in-person at blood drives (clinical exposure opportunity upon approval)
Role 3: Community Outreach & Donations
- Connect with local churches to share donation needs
- Provide instructions for donation drop-off or delivery
- Work alongside the CHW Supervisor to track and organize donations
- If local, assist with donation setup at the center
Role 4: Housing Navigation Support (Southern California)
- Create housing resource lists for clients
- Research and collect information on PSH, TLS, vouchers, and subsidy programs
- Visit housing locations (if local) and gather updated information
- Build connections with property managers, resident service coordinators, and organizations (LAHSA, PATH, Brilliant Corners, The People Concern)
- Identify open waitlists and available housing opportunities
Role 5: Partnerships, Grants & Administrative Support
- Transfer and organize partner and school data into spreadsheets
- Contact college program directors (financial aid, work study, off-campus programs) to schedule meetings
- Set up meetings with community and media stakeholders
- Research grants, compile funding information, and organize for leadership review

- Based in Southern California (preferred for hybrid roles, but remote applicants welcome)
