About Us

RJE Design & Construction is a multi-division construction company serving Long Island with remodeling, kitchens, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC services. We are looking for a Construction Management Intern who is eager to learn the business side of construction, including estimating, takeoffs, purchasing, and project coordination.

Position Overview

This internship is designed for students interested in construction management, estimating, operations, or project coordination. The intern will work alongside our team to help with quantity takeoffs, pricing, purchasing support, and job planning. This is a strong opportunity to see how projects are built from estimating through execution.

Responsibilities
• Assist with material takeoffs from plans and field measurements
• Help prepare estimates and scope breakdowns
• Support purchasing and vendor pricing requests
• Track material orders and delivery schedules
• Help compare quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Organize project documents, specs, and selections
• Assist with job planning and coordination
• Support office and field teams with project-related paperwork
• Help update spreadsheets for budgets, takeoffs, and procurement logs
• Learn how construction projects move from bid stage to production

Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related program
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Comfortable with Excel, Google Sheets, and office software
• Interest in estimating, takeoffs, purchasing, and project management
• Good communication and willingness to learn

Preferred Skills
• Ability to read plans or willingness to learn
• Interest in construction materials and methods
• Strong time management
• Self-starter with a team attitude
