PT or FT World Language Teacher (Any Language)
The Knox School, located in St. James, New York, is a nonsectarian, independent, college-preparatory boarding and day school serving students in grades six through twelve, including a post-graduate year. As we continue to grow our academic programs and expand opportunities for students, we are seeking dynamic, innovative, and student-centered educators to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year.
At Knox, teachers work in a welcoming, family-like environment with small class sizes (5–15 students), strong administrative support, and a school culture grounded in relationships, intellectual curiosity, and academic excellence. Faculty are part of a collaborative team led by the Dean of Academics, and each teacher is responsible for:
- Teaching up to six classes
- Maintaining timely communication with students and families
- Posting grades, assignments, feedback, and progress reports
- Planning and refining curriculum for their courses
- Serving as an advisor (FT position only)
- Leading or assisting with after-school activities for 2 out of 3 seasons or 3 days per week (clubs, athletics, enrichment programs) (FT position only)
- Advising at least one student club or organization (FT position only)
Ideal candidates are energetic, organized, excellent communicators, and enthusiastic about working with students in a college-preparatory environment. They should demonstrate strong classroom management skills, deep content knowledge, and a passion for supporting students’ academic growth.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. Preference will be given to strong candidates with a Master’s Degree and/or a valid Teaching Certificate. Experience in independent schools is a plus
On-campus housing MAY be available, though it is not required for employment.

WORLD LANGUAGE TEACHER
We seek an engaging World Language teacher who can teach across middle and upper school levels. Any/All Languages accepted. Candidates who are multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching Language I–IV (and possibly AP or advanced elective courses)
- Supporting conversational fluency through active, immersive instruction
- Contributing to cultural programming and global studies initiatives
