Full Stack Java Developer

Contract • Charlotte, North Carolina, United States (Hybrid)

Provn is hiring a Full Stack Java Developer for a contract role building enterprise-grade applications with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and integrated Generative AI workflows.

 

Comp: $65-$70/hr. Hybrid in Charlotte, NC. Contract.

This is a 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of a 24-month extension.

 

This contract role combines traditional enterprise Java development and modern AI integration. You'll architect scalable microservices, build responsive Angular frontends, and bring LLM capabilities into workflows that enterprise teams actually use day to day. You'll also contribute to architectural direction and technical strategy, not just ticket-level execution.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and building full stack applications across a Java/Spring Boot backend and an Angular frontend
  • Architecting microservices and implementing API gateways
  • Designing RESTful APIs and optimizing backend services for performance and reliability
  • Building responsive, component-based UIs with Angular (v10+), TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx
  • Working with message brokers like Kafka and RabbitMQ for event-driven workflows
  • Integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) into enterprise workflows, including prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architectures
  • Database design, indexing, and query optimization across SQL (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and MongoDB
  • Leading code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and keeping standards high across the team
  • Partnering with product managers, UX, DevOps, and QA throughout the delivery cycle

 

What we're looking for:

  • Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security
  • Hands-on experience designing microservices architectures and RESTful APIs at production scale
  • Advanced Angular (v10+) experience with TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx
  • Solid SQL experience with Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, plus hands-on MongoDB
  • Experience with message brokers: Kafka and RabbitMQ
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs and building AI-powered workflows
  • Working knowledge of embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architecture
  • Exposure to LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • CI/CD pipeline experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar
  • Cloud platform experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP

 

Must be authorized to work in the US. No visa sponsorship.

 

Comp: $65-$70/hr. Hybrid in Charlotte, NC. Contract.
