Crowdfunding & Environmental Communication Intern

Position Responsibilities:

The intern will support a conservation project by helping design and launch a crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with an NGO. The role includes developing campaign content, promoting it through social media, and assisting with outreach activities. Ideal for someone interested in environmental communication and audiovisual storytelling. Sample tasks could include:

• Assist in planning and developing a crowdfunding campaign, including defining goals, budget, and campaign structure.
• Create engaging storytelling content and visual materials for the campaign page and promotional platforms.
• Promote the campaign through social media and other communication channels, engaging with supporters and responding to inquiries.
• Support the dissemination of the project to schools, communities, and local organizations.
• Contribute to ongoing science communication and environmental outreach activities at the NGO

About the Organization

Founded in 2008, is a science outreach program originally developed to foster interest in science and technology among students in public schools in Valparaíso, Chile. Over the years, they have expanded their activities to include different types of schools, as well as the general public, and have worked throughout the country. They develop workshops in various areas, including neuroscience and sustainable technologies, tailored to different audiences depending on the organization they are collaborating with.

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
