Intern, Human Resources

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to support our Human Resources department with a variety of file management and document organization projects. This 3‑month internship offers hands-on experience in HR operations, employee records management, and compliance procedures. The ideal intern is eager to learn, highly organized, and able to maintain confidentiality while gaining insight into core HR processes. This role provides valuable development opportunities across the HR department, including exposure to HRIS systems, employee lifecycle documentation, and process improvement initiatives.

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • File Management: Assist with organizing, labeling, and maintaining physical and digital employee files in accordance with HR guidelines and compliance standards.
  • Scanning & Digitization: Support the scanning, uploading, and indexing of confidential documents into the HRIS or document management system while learning best practices in data accuracy and record retention.
  • Shipping & Archiving: Help prepare employee files for secure off-site storage, including packaging, logging, and documenting items under supervision.
  • Confidentiality Compliance: Uphold strict confidentiality and follow data protection protocols while handling sensitive HR documents.
  • Process Adherence: Follow established workflows and contribute ideas for process improvements as part of your internship learning experience.
  • Time Management: Prioritize assigned tasks and manage workload to meet project timelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with HR team members and external partners to support ongoing file transition projects and other HR operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Business Admin, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn document management tools and HR systems.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 25 lbs as needed.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in developing foundational HR operations and compliance knowledge.

 

**This is a 5 day per week on-site position in Wayne, NJ.  This is not a remote or hybrid position.

**This role will be a summer internship starting in June 2026 and ending in August 2026

 

Pay Range:  $21 - $23 / hour
