Job Description
Partner with the Sports Outreach Director to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the Sports & Recreation Ministry by overseeing gym rental coordination, managing event and league staffing, and supporting Recreational programs, summer camps and Upward Basketball.
General Requirements:
- Staff Scheduling: Maintain an up-to-date roster of staff members available to cover the Welcome Desk for birthday parties, one-time events, summer recreation programs, Upward refereeing, volleyball practices and games, pickleball, basketball practices and games, and other activities held in the Gym, Parlor, Club Room, and Game Room
- Facility Coordination: Communicate with ministry events, parents, Connect Groups and outside groups requesting use of the gym
- Program Awareness: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all events, camps, leagues, and classes offered throughout the year to effectively and accurately communicate information to families and Connect Groups
- Administrative Support: Complete administrative tasks and manage logistics as needed throughout the year. Initiate background checks and awareness training and maintaining standards within our Safe at Church Guidelines
- Emailing and calling parents concerning needs and requests as it pertains to camps and leagues
- Support Minister in submitting creative arts requests and promotion of events
- Ensure Touchpoint entries and registrations are accurate and up to date
- Program & Event Support: Assist with the planning, coordination, and organization of events, camps, and leagues.
- Assist with Setup/Tear-down of Gym Equipment and occasionally work the Welcome Desk
- Work as needed with leagues, camps and events
Requirements:
- Strong administrative and computer skills, particularly proficient in MS Office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects, simultaneously
- Flexibility
- Ability to work both independently and on a team
