The Opportunity (Bottom Line)
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant who can own the day-to-day accounting while also contributing to financial insights, forecasting, and client advisory.
This is not just a data-entry role — you’ll help turn numbers into meaningful business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
📊 Accounting & Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconcile key accounts including payroll, liabilities, and intercompany accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple clients
💼 Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure financials are clean, accurate, and ready for tax and advisory use
📈 Forecasting & Planning
- Assist in building financial forecasts and budgets
- Analyze forecast vs. actual performance and provide insights
- Support clients and internal team with forward-looking financial guidance
🧠 Advisory Support
- Prepare management reports, notes, and presentation decks for client meetings
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
- Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to support client strategy
⚙️ Systems & Process Improvement
- Work across multiple accounting platforms (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reporting efficiency
- Help standardize processes as the firm scales
Qualifications
✅ Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2–3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with reconciliations (bank, payroll, liabilities)
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar)
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
🔥 Preferred
- Experience working with multiple clients or in a firm environment
- Exposure to forecasting, budgeting, or financial modeling
- Experience creating management reports or presentations
- CPA candidate or pursuing certification
