British Swim School of Southside Jacksonville is hiring!

We are looking for enthusiastic Swim Instructors to teach vital water survival skills to students of all ages, especially young children. Our mission is simple but powerful: to save lives by equipping individuals with the confidence and skills they need in the water.

No teaching experience? No problem! We provide full training and support.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

  1. Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
  2. Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
  3. Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3:30pm-7:30pm), Saturdays  (9am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
  4. Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.
  5. Maintains order and safety in and around swimming areas.
    Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma.
  2. 18 years and older.
  3. Knowledge of all 4 Swimming strokes.
  4. Enthusiastic personality.
  5. Comfortable in and around the water.
  6. Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
  7. Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.
  8. Capable of teaching Group, Semi-Private, and Private Swim Lessons.
  9. Capable of evaluating swimmer's progress
     

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience working with children.
● Swimming experience: 1-2 years
● Customer service skills: 1 year preferred
● Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)


Job Types: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week

Schedule:

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

Work Location: In person   Indoor Heated pool located inside LA Fitness in Old St Augustine Road (Mandarin)
