Senior Technician Facilities Maintenance
What you’ll be doing...
You will be responsible for the monitoring, testing, preventative maintenance and repair of electrical systems, alarming and monitoring systems, to ensure they remain in a fully operational condition, utilizing your knowledge of electrical theory, pipefitting, and structural layout, per specifications and operational procedures in Verizon Network Facility locations. You will perform maintenance and repair of the physical facilities structures, security and peripheral systems. You will handle the emergency power backup systems and physical facility remedies at all technical facilities. As the first responder during natural disasters or any facilities threat to the network’s integrity, your role will be critical in ensuring best in class customer experience.
- Performing routine preventative maintenance on Generators, DC Plants/Batteries/Rectifiers, UPS, ATS/Switching Gear, , and
- Providing maintenance and repair of electrical systems, and related energy management systems.
- Maintaining, diagnosing, testing, overhauling, installing, and repairing a variety of AC, DC, ATS. UPS, batteries, rectifiers and electrical systems.
- Monitoring facility environmental conditions and addressing any issues.
- Assisting engineers with design of new installations or upgrades to facility equipment.
- Inspecting current electrical systems for effectiveness and safety.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for all power systems.
Physical requirements of the job may include, but are not limited to: climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated areas, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to approximately 60 pounds, pushing, grasping, twisting/bending, and crawling, squatting, or kneeling in small spaces.

You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Valid driver’s license and able to obtain DOT certification.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule (shifts) including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience in ventilating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and heating plant operations and maintenance.
- Commercial electrical experience.
- Possession of a current AST or UST Fuel System Operator certification (Class A, B, or C).
- Vocational or Technical school training in ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and heating plant operations and maintenance.
- DOT certificate.
- Valid EPA Certification.
