Construction Management Summer Intern

Overview

Jardine Builders is seeking a motivated Construction Management Intern to join our team. This position provides hands-on experience across multiple functions of the construction process, including project engineering, project management, estimating, and field supervision. The intern will work closely with project teams on active job sites and in the office to gain exposure to both preconstruction and construction execution.

This role is ideal for a Construction Management or Civil Engineering student eager to learn how complex commercial projects are managed from planning through completion.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Engineering Support

  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation.
  • Maintain and update project schedules, drawings, and logs.
  • Support quality control and safety documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and take detailed meeting notes.

Project Management Support

  • Help track project progress and coordinate between field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Support project closeout, including document collection and punch list management.
  • Assist with material procurement and cost tracking.

Estimating Support

  • Perform quantity takeoffs, collect vendor quotes, and support bid tabulation.
  • Assist with assembling bid packages and reviewing subcontractor proposals.
  • Gain exposure to preconstruction planning and budgeting processes.

Field / Superintendent Support

  • Support field staff with daily reports, safety inspections, and progress photos.
  • Observe jobsite coordination, sequencing, and trade management.
  • Assist in enforcing safety and quality standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or P6 is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work both in the office and in the field.
