We are seeking a highly responsible undergraduate student to help with routine laboratory maintenance in the Gene Regulatory Evolution Laboratory. Federal Work-Study eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply; however, all qualified applicants will be considered.
This position may begin in summer 2026 or fall 2026, with the possibility of renewal depending on performance and funding.

Major responsibilities
- Prepare glass tubes and glassware for cleaning in lab dishwashers.
- Clean reusable plasticware.
- Prepare and autoclave cleaned glassware.
- Prepare microbial media for cell culture.
Successful applicants will receive training from lab members to safely operate the relevant equipment and follow laboratory procedures.
Qualifications
- Attention to details.
- Highly responsible.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic chemistry lab training is desirable but not required.
Time commitment
This is a paid position at $15/hour, averaging 2–3 hours per week, with some weeks requiring 4–5 hours. Work time is flexible.
