Student Trainee (Compliance)

As a Student Trainee (Compliance), your duties may include:

• Developing and participating in the preparation of formal letters, documents, and reports.
• Developing the fundamental knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to perform the work of a Compliance Specialist.
• Researching FSIS and OIEA policy letters and documents.
• Completing assigned tasks in FSIS applications (i.e. AssuranceNet).
• Working with Compliance Specialists and Investigators to ensure meat, poultry, and egg products are safe, wholesome and properly labeled and investigates alleged sales of uninspected, adulterated, or misbranded products in distribution channels.
• Communicating effectively with FSIS management, District Office managers, Compliance Specialists, Compliance Investigators, inspection personnel, and other Federal agency personnel, industry officials, attorneys, and others inside and outside FSIS.
• Performing routine tasks under close supervision in a developmental capacity to become familiar with the overall organization structure and its mission.
• Observing and assist in a variety of duties performed by Compliance Specialists.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
