๐ About Sound Muse
Sound Muse is building The Space Cadet โ a new type of music + visual instrument designed for producers, streamers, and creators.
The Space Cadet combines:
- Beat pads (like an MPC)
- Real-time visual control
- Projection-based performance
We are currently developing our first working hardware prototype and are looking for a hands-on intern to help assemble it.
๐ ๏ธ What Youโll Do
- Assemble prototype electronics inside the enclosure
- Help wire and connect components including:
- Beat pad controller (MIDI)
- Knobs / potentiometers
- LED components
- Battery pack
- Cooling fan
- Assist with mounting components into the prototype casing
- Help organize clean internal wiring (cable management)
- Support preparation for Raspberry Pi integration
๐ This is hands-on work building a real product โ not just theory.
๐ฏ Qualifications
- Engineering student (Drexel preferred, but not required)
- Experience with Arduino or Raspberry Pi
- Basic understanding of electronics and wiring
- Comfortable with soldering
- Interested in building physical hardware
โ Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Interest in music production or creative tech
- Experience with MIDI controllers
- 3D printing or enclosure prototyping
- Basic software skills (Python, UI tools, etc.)
๐ If you can also help with simple software or UI concepts (SpaceDash), thatโs a plus.
๐ฐ Compensation
- $15โ$20/hour
or - $500โ$800 project stipend
Potential bonus for completing key prototype milestones.

Build a working hardware prototype shell of The Space Cadet before software integration.
