Extension Nutrition and Wellness Intern - Utah County

Make a positive impact by supporting programs that strengthen both youth and families. This internship focuses on 4-H youth development and home and community education, offering hands-on experience in areas such as leadership development, nutrition, wellness, and family life. Interns will help deliver programs, develop educational materials, and engage with participants of all ages.

You’ll gain experience working in both youth and community settings, with opportunities to collaborate, lead activities, and build professional skills. Flexible scheduling may be available depending on program needs. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in Extension, community education, community health, or family and consumer sciences.

This position is hybrid work eligible within the state of Utah, with in-person responsibilities in Orem, UT.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support instruction of in-person county Extension courses (e.g., Diabetes Cook Along, Canning 101, Gluten-Free Lifestyle Switch)
  • Assist with qualitative analysis of clinician interview transcripts, including reviewing for accuracy and identification of key themes for the gluten-free project
  • Contribute to the revision and enhancement of the micro entrepreneurship curriculum
  • Author at least one Extension article on a topic of the intern's choosing for Extension website publication
  • Participate in additional Extension projects aligned with the intern's interests and program needs

 

Qualifications

  • Be an undergraduate student or planning to attend in the Fall
  • Have an interest in the Extension program
  • Be dependable
  • Experience with nutrition and wellness
  • Experience with research
  • Desire to learn how to teach in the community
