Malteurop North America is seeking a motivated Summer Intern studying Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related field to join our team in exploring the fast evolving landscape of on‑farm tools and technologies.
This intern will work closely with a select group of progressive growers across Montana, North Dakota and Saskatchewan to document, evaluate, and summarize practical, real world innovations happening on leading barley farms. The intern would also help digitize barley production regions to help monitor production risk. The summer intern will also help the procurement team prepare for the upcoming harvest, such as harvest sample correspondence and tracking tools.
The internship program offers students the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best in the malting business.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled as full-time student or recently graduated at an accredited college or university
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or otherwise related academic major
- Good academic standing
- US Citizen or legal right to work in the US.
- Must have a valid passport
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with growers, agronomists, and cross functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Power BI, AI) and intranet/internet
- Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written); able to communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated interest in enhancing knowledge; seeks opportunities to learn and grow.
- Use multiple resources to gather and review information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
- Valid driver’s license and comfort operating vehicles on rural roads and farm properties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands‑on farm production experience, such as crop production, and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with small grains, especially barley, or prior experience with research plots, variety trials, or field data collection.
- Basic understanding of sustainable agriculture, carbon programs, or conservation practices.
