Hybrid Nurse Practitioner (School-Based) – BDC

Position Summary
The BDC Hybrid Nurse Practitioner (NP) will serve as an essential clinical provider within the School District’s health initiative, delivering school-based preventive care with a primary focus on conducting sports physicals for students. This full-time role requires the NP to work at least three (3) days per week onsite in schools, with additional administrative, remote, or office-based responsibilities on non‑school days.
The ideal candidate is a mission‑driven clinician committed to improving youth health outcomes and expanding access to care within educational settings.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Conduct sports physicals and comprehensive health assessments for student-athletes across multiple school sites.
- Evaluate medical histories, immunization status, and clearance needs in accordance with district and state guidelines.
- Identify health risks or conditions requiring further evaluation, specialty care, or follow-up.
- Provide episodic, non-emergent clinical support as appropriate within the scope of school-based services.
Program & Operational Support
- Collaborate with school nurses, athletic directors, administrators, and district leadership to coordinate scheduling and service delivery.
- Complete all documentation in the designated electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and within required timelines.
- Support program data reporting, quality initiatives, compliance standards, and operational workflows.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and program development activities as directed.
Family & Community Engagement
- Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding evaluation results, clearance decisions, and follow-up recommendations.
- Provide student and family education on preventive care, sports readiness, and adolescent health topics.
Hybrid Work Expectations
- Onsite: Minimum 3 days per week providing services in schools across the district.
- Offsite/Remote: Charting, case review, coordination, and administrative duties completed remotely or at assigned office locations.
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current and unrestricted NP license in PA
- National board certification (FNP, PNP, or related specialty).
- Active BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or school populations.
Preferred
- Experience with school-based health programs, community health, or adolescent medicine.
- Familiarity with sports physical requirements and return-to-play guidelines.
- Ability to work independently in field-based and multi-site environments.
- Vaccine experience a plus

Work Schedule
- Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Minimum of 3 school-based days per week (travel across district required).
- Remote/administrative work on non-school days.
