Hybrid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – BDC

Position Summary
The BDC Hybrid LPN will support school-based health services across the School District, with a primary focus on assisting in and conducting sports physicals for students. This full-time position requires the nurse to work at least three (3) days per week onsite in schools, with additional administrative or remote duties scheduled on non-school days.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate, organized, and community-focused nurse committed to enhancing student health and increasing access to preventive care within school settings.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Conduct components of sports physicals, including vital signs, vision screening, health history verification, and documentation.
- Assist the supervising Physician or Nurse Practitioner with physical examinations when required.
- Identify and report any health concerns that may require further clinical evaluation.
- Maintain clinical supplies and ensure equipment readiness across school sites.
Student Health Services
- Support non-emergent student health assessments as appropriate to licensure and program scope.
- Educate students on basic health practices, preventive care, and athletic readiness.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding documentation needs or follow-up recommendations.
Program & Operational Support
- Coordinate scheduling and student flow with school nurses, athletic directors, and administrators.
- Document all services in the designated electronic medical record (EMR) system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with program reporting, data collection, and compliance tasks.
- Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Hybrid Work Expectations
- Onsite: Minimum of 3 days per week providing direct services in schools across the district.
- Offsite/Remote: Administrative tasks, documentation, coordination, and professional development as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Current and unrestricted LPN license in PA.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in school, community health, primary care, or similar settings.
Preferred
- Experience with school-based health programs, community nursing, or pediatric/adolescent populations.
- Familiarity with sports physical processes and standard athletic clearance requirements.
- Comfort working independently in field-based environments.
- Vaccine experience a plus

Work Schedule
- Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Minimum of 3 school-based onsite days per week, with district-wide travel required.
- Remote/administrative duties on non-school days.
