Extension Connect United Build Engage (CUBE) Intern
Support programs that strengthen healthy homes and thriving communities. The Extension Home and Community Department focuses on areas such as nutrition, financial well-being, mental health, and family relationships. As part of USU's land-grant mission, this internship offers hands-on experience assisting with research-based education and outreach designed to improve quality of life. Interns will help deliver programs, develop educational materials, and connect with community members in meaningful ways.

Interns have opportunities to work both independently and as part of a team, with some flexibility in scheduling depending on program needs. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in Extension, community education, public health, or family and consumer sciences careers.
This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.
Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on delivery of CUBE-supported Extension programs within Home & Community, gaining direct experience in Community Health Worker (CHW) programming, youth-focused activities, and wellness and nutrition education
- Participate in community outreach alongside Extension staff, learning how programs are introduced, how trust is built with participants, and how engagement is sustained across communities
- Contribute to the design and adaptation of CUBE summer programming, learning how educational content and activities are structured, adjusted, and tailored to different audiences
- Co-facilitate educational sessions by leading small group activities and supporting participant engagement, developing skills in communication, facilitation, and instructional delivery
- Learn how Extension operates through the CUBE model, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how programs are developed, adapted, and implemented to respond to community needs and prepare for roles within Extension
