Job Summary
The Test Stand Assembly Intern is responsible for assembling Portable Test Units. This part-time role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment. Candidates with experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or plumbing-related fields are preferred.
Essential Functions
The following duties are representative of the essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
- Assemble Portable Test Stand units using tube benders, swage tools, and various hand and power tools.
- Operate hand and power tools, including but not limited to wrenches, grinders, sanders, skill saws, drills, and drill presses.
- Assist in the construction of shipping crates and packaging for orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; support general warehouse organization and maintenance as needed.
- Perform material pickup, delivery, and internal material movement as required.
- Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, work instructions, drawings, and company policies.
- Accurately complete assigned work to meet production schedules, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineering, and other departments to support project execution.
Work Environment, Schedule & Safety Requirements
This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The work environment may include exposure to loud noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and active forklift and material-handling equipment. Employees may be required to work in proximity to other production activities and heavy equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, gloves, and other job-specific safety gear.
The standard operating hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A part-time schedule will be provided upon hiring.
This position is considered safety-sensitive due to the operation of tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment. The Company maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment and/or random drug and alcohol testing, as permitted by law. Employees are required to comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
