Giving Tree Early Learning, part of Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis, is a nurturing, Reggio-inspired early childhood program serving children ages 12 months through Pre-K. We believe in play-based, inquiry-driven learning that supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—within a warm, values-based community.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Lead Teacher to create a dynamic, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. The Lead Teacher will guide curriculum, support children’s growth, and collaborate closely with assistants, families, and school leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum
• Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Observe, assess, and document student growth and development
• Foster social-emotional development and positive classroom culture
• Supervise and support teaching assistants
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families
• Maintain compliance with state licensing and health/safety requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
• Experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood setting
• Strong understanding of child development and best practices
• Ability to design engaging, child-centered learning experiences
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Alignment with a collaborative, team-oriented environment
