Giving Tree Early Learning, part of Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis, is a nurturing, Reggio-inspired early childhood program serving children ages 12 months through Pre-K. We believe in play-based, inquiry-driven learning that supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—within a warm, values-based community.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Lead Teacher to create a dynamic, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. The Lead Teacher will guide curriculum, support children’s growth, and collaborate closely with assistants, families, and school leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum
- Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Observe, assess, and document student growth and development
- Foster social-emotional development and positive classroom culture
- Supervise and support teaching assistants
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families
- Maintain compliance with state licensing and health/safety requirements
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- Experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood setting
- Strong understanding of child development and best practices
- Ability to design engaging, child-centered learning experiences
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Alignment with a collaborative, team-oriented environment
